Day 1 – The journey begins

Yesterday was my first day interning at the Australian Permanent Mission to the United Nations Human Rights Council.

My day was spent at the United Nations Office Geneva, Room XX, Building E, in the 21st Session of the Universal Periodic Review.

In the morning session, Sweden was reviewed. Australia’s Statement was delivered by Emily Hill, Third Secretary, Australian Permanent Mission to the UNHRC. In the afternoon, Grenada was reviewed. Australia’s Statement was delivered by Ricky Macourt, DFAT. My role during the sessions was note taking, and drafting Cables to Canberra.
