The 2016 interns

The Castan Centre has awarded four 2016 Global Internships to Monash Law students who have shown a strong and continuing interest in the study and practical application of human rights. These Internships take place over Summer 2015/16 at Human Rights First, New York City; International Women’s Rights Action Watch – Asia Pacific, Kuala Lumpur and Geneva; Centre for Constitutional Rights, New York City; and International Service for Human Rights, Geneva.

These four students are given the unique opportunity to experience and contribute to international human rights organisations first hand. To find out more about the organisations and the background of the Castan interns, please see the intern profiles below.

Geerthana Narendren who will intern at Human Rights First, New York City.

Estelle Petrie, who will intern at International Women’s Rights Action Watch – Asia Pacific, Kuala Lumpur and Geneva.

Sarah Sacher, who will intern at the Center for Constitutional Rights, New York City.

Sam Dipnall, who will intern at the International Service for Human Rights, Geneva;

The 2016 Castan Centre Global Interns are provided with financial assistance by Daniel and Danielle Besen, Sylvia & Michael Kantor, the Nordia Foundation, the Bennelong Foundation,  the Monash Law Faculty’s Student Mobility Fund, and MyriaD Consultants, which conducts the cross-cultural training.
